What is Infidelity Counselling?

Infidelity occurs when one member of a relationship has an affair, whether sexual or emotional, and often leads to distrust and deep pain. Though infidelity is often the catalyst for counselling, it’s generally the symptom of pre-existing issues that need addressing. Counselling provides a safe place to begin the road to healing through self-expression, grieving the loss of the relationship you had, and beginning to slowly rebuild trust and intimacy.

HOW DOES INFIDELITY COUNSELLING WORK AT BLISS?

While no two couples are the same, we use evidence-based practices to provide powerful insights and help you develop clarity and confidence on how to move forward.

  1. At Bliss, we believe your counselling should be as unique as your relationship. We’ll begin by getting you matched with the perfect therapist for you and your partner(s). All Bliss therapists are highly-trained and experienced, so you’ll be in reliable, compassionate hands.
  2. Then, you’ll get started with your initial session. During this appointment (virtual or in-person, your pick), you and your partner(s) will share your struggles with your therapist. You’ll each receive individual time to communicate with the therapist, who will serve as unbiased, compassionate facilitator.
  3. From here, we take it one appointment at a time. You’ll meet with your therapist until you feel clarity and confidence on your unique path to move forward.
  4. Moving forward, you’ll have a strong toolkit to draw upon and better communication skills when the road gets bumpy. Not to mention, you’ll be able to jump back in with an already established relationship with your therapist should the need for couples or individual therapy arise.
