Blending a range of evidence based practices into your sessions, allows Jessica to provide you with the space, tools and skills to fit your clinical needs. Jessica will meet you where you’re at in your journey with what feels most comfortable to you. She will provide you with a welcoming and non-judgemental space. Jessica obtained her Masters of Social Work degree from Wilfrid Laurier University and her Bachelor of Arts degree from Wilfrid Laurier University; majoring in Youth and Children studies. Jessica is a registered member of the Ontario College of Social Work and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and is also a member of the Canadian Association of Social Work (CASW).
Jessica works from a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive and collaborative framework. In your sessions with Jessica she may draw from her education and trainings rooted in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Gottman Method Couples Therapy, as well as Solution Focused Therapy (SFT). Jessica also brings mindfulness and the mind-body connection into sessions and uses other evidenced-based clinical modalities and techniques to help her clients.
Jessica has a particular interest in working with trauma, and the other areas of life and/or mental health that are impacted. She believes that everyone deserves a space in which they feel heard, validated, and safe. Jessica is passionate about not only empowering her clients, but also allowing them an opportunity to engage in self-growth and self-compassion. Jessica is looking forward to connecting with you and helping you reconnect with what is important to you.
When Jessica is not in the office, you can find her engaging in self-care. You may find her walking her beagle around the city, sitting in a coffee shop reading a good book, or simply just exploring the community. Jessica also dedicates spending some of her time at the local farmer’s market drinking lemonade and eating apple fritters.
