Chantale's Bio

Education & Experience: Chantale is a Registered Social Worker with a Master of Social Work degree from Wilfrid Laurier University and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Guelph. Chantale is an active member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW) and the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA). Prior to joining Bliss, Chantale spent several years working for a national nonprofit organization providing phone support, system navigation, and organizing advocacy campaigns. She has also worked in Family Health Teams providing individual psychotherapy to hundreds of teens, adults and seniors. 

Therapeutic Style: Chantale is described as a caring therapist with a warm and empathetic approach. She is dedicated to building a foundation of trust, so that you can feel comfortable to share what you wish to discuss and feel genuinely acknowledged and understood. She values collaborating with you to discover creative solutions, and she is ready to share resources that add to what has been discussed in session. Chantale truly recognizes that the therapeutic relationship is often one of the first models of secure attachment, and she will walk alongside you in therapy, at your pace. 

Therapeutic Approach: Chantale practices from an attachment-based and trauma-informed lens. She is trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Attachment-Based Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Mindful Self-Compassion, Polyvagal Theory, and Solution Focused Therapy. She is currently pursuing a certificate in Somatic Attachment Therapy. 

Personal: Outside of her therapeutic work, Chantale finds joy in exploring hiking trails, Zumba classes, travelling, and finding new cookbook recipes.
