With a genuine and down-to-earth demeanour, Ellyn views therapy as a team endeavour, and tailors each session to align with your unique needs. Her goal in session is to meet you where you’re at and to guide you toward where it is that you want to be. At the heart of Ellyn’s practice is the therapeutic connection you will share. She crafts a space that’s free from judgment, so that you may express yourself confidently and take charge of your growth. Ellyn operates within a holistic, trauma-informed, and strengths-oriented framework. Her client-centred approach is complemented by an array of evidence-based tools, each of which are designed to support you with navigating challenges and cultivating effective coping mechanisms, so that you can thrive! Drawing from her own past as a competitive synchronized swimmer and coach, Ellyn is attuned to the mental well-being of athletes. She’s equally dedicated to assisting post-secondary students and young professionals in their unique journeys. Ellyn is a Registered Social Worker who attended and graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Contemporary Studies, as well as a Masters in Social Work. As a Certified Sports Social Worker and in ongoing pursuit of a diploma from the International Olympic Committee for Mental Health in Elite Sport, Ellyn is committed to staying at the forefront of athlete mental health. Ellyn brings a wealth of experience from diverse settings, including correctional, educational, sports, and community-based mental health and addiction treatment contexts, making her your ultimate teammate in your therapeutic journey.
