Haley Schweyer
Therapist / MA, RPshe/her/hersHaley believes that we heal in connection, and that a collaborative and strong therapeutic relationship will be the foundation of your work together. In session, Haley will encourage your autonomy – she trusts that you have resources and so much wisdom within you already! She also firmly believes that you should feel in control of your therapy sessions, like the driver of a car, while she takes the passenger seat and offers suggestions for your consideration. By using an integrative approach, Haley blends a range of therapeutic tools and skills to uniquely tailor her sessions for each client. If ever something is not working for you, just let her know and she will adjust! Haley is honoured to partner with her clients on their individual journeys and will demonstrate this by prioritizing your safety throughout your work together.

Haley is a Registered Psychotherapist and is an active member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). Haley works from a trauma-informed and anti-oppressive framework, as well as draws from her education in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Polyvagal Theory, Narrative Therapy and Mindfulness. Haley has a special interest in working with religious trauma and believes everyone deserves a safe space to work towards the exploration, deconstruction and reconstruction of their narratives to help determine what values and messages serve and best align with who they are now. Haley recognizes the many ways trauma can have an impact on our lives. She incorporates a neurobiological perspective (mind-body relationship) to support clients with reclaiming, re-connecting and finding safety within the body. Haley wants to empower her clients! She feels her role is to provide space for her clients’ narratives to be heard. In doing so, she supports her clients’ with accessing their inner worlds and developing a greater sense of self-compassion and understanding of themselves.
Haley is a fellow member of the 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, spiritually open, and kink and sex positive. In working with Haley, you can expect a dash of humour in the sessions as well as a relaxed, safe, non-judgmental, and collaborative environment. In her off time, Haley enjoys finding new documentaries and spots to hike, paddle boarding, practicing her novice banjo skills, and spending time with her friends, family, partner and 18-year-old cat.
